Forrest Griffin vs. Stephan Bonnar Greatest MMA fight in history. I’m sure that alot of Ali’s fights were better, but I wasn’t around to see them. With Tyson it was almost a foregone conclusions he was going to beat anyone who got in the ring with him. That is until his slide.

There have been alot of amazing match-ups down through the years, with such greats as Ali, Foreman, Tyson, etc. But for me, I would have to say my favorite all-time fight match-up was when Gina “Conviction” Carano and Cris “Cyborg” Santos got together to be the first women (lets hear it for the ladies, guys!) in MMA history to headline a major MMA fight card! Check this out!

As big a fan I am of MMA nowadays, I’ve always been a fan of boxing, ever since I was growing up it was always around. Right now, my all time favorite event/event would be the Pacquiao vs. Cotto fight. It was just a great showing and it made him first to have titles in 7 weight classes. Just waiting for Mayweather to come out!

Even though it’s recent, it’s got to be Cheick Kongo’s back-from-the-dead knock-out against Pat Barry. Kongo was knocked down twice and still reeling when he threw a last-ditch uppercut that dropped a charging Barry.

I have to say my favorite fight moment of all time is Randy Couture spanking Tito Ortiz in the final minute of their match at UFC 44 Undisputed. Tito came into the match as the favorite and Randy the old man on his last leg. Randy inspired so many in his performance and captured the LHW Belt that night in dominating fashion. Inspiration to all us old men in the sport of MMA.

Mr. T vs Rocky
Just kidding. I would actually say Miletich vs. Matsumoto. Miletich used to be my karate instructor, so naturally I would pick a fight he was in as my favorite! MMA fight, Miletich’s fist one!
P.S. – Tom Hardy blew me away in this movie! He’s an extraordinary actor.

Either when Brock Lesnar pulled off the miracle comeback against the onslaught of Shane Carwin or when Anderson Silva knocked out Vitor Belfort with a front kick. It was the sheer shock factor that I had never seen someone knocked out with that move. The whole room got quiet in disbelief in both cases.

2:34 pm on September 21st, 2011
My favorite fight would have to be one that running, surprisingly enough, is slightly similar to the elements in Warrior, the Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart match in 1994. For one, it was for all the marbles, not just any match, a championship match. It’s amazing how they are so evenly matched, and brutal in their advances. The way that they counter each move is pretty amazing, as is the ending. Owen emerging as the surprise winner is fascinating to watch, nut even the after the match footage, of Owen yelling about Bret “not part of my family, not my brother,” and the dynamic between them, it’s unlike any other fight I have ever seen. It will always be the most memorable to me.

When Evander Holyfield lost in the Olympics, It wasn’t the greatest win, but how he took the loss. He should’ve won that fight, but he handled it with so much class. Life isn’t fair and this is a lesson on how to deal with those times.

I’d really have to say Tommy & Brendan in the warrior. Even though this was just a movie it was the most amazing fight I have ever seen!
2:39 pm on September 21st, 2011
The best fight moment to me was when Frankie Edgar fought Gray Maynard for the second time. Edgar was knocked down in the first round about 4 times. He couldn’t fight back because he was obviously hurt. He struggled to stay in he fight and eventually made it through the first round. when the second round started Edgar started to get the comeback scoring points via strikes. Maynard had no answer. Edgar came back with a takedown in the 3rd round and another in the 4th. I have never seen a fight where a fighter was getting dominated so bad and ending up coming back fight like a true Champion should using their heart. The fight ended in a draw. That fight will forever motivate me not just in my fighting career but as well as in my life. Not matter how bad you get hurt you can still fight back and give it your all. the fighter with the most heart will always be the true champion.

Ali vs. Fraiser in the 70s. My parents let me stay up late to watch that fight–everyone in school was talking about it. I’ve never seen a phenomena like it, before or since, where the whole country seemed glued to one match. Love Tom Hardy in “Warrior”….he is a great actor and the whole world is about to love him, too.

My favorite fight moment was UFC 68 Tim Sylvia vs. Randy Couture for the Heavyweight title. Coture in many eyes was done career wise. SO going in he was a complete underdog. He was smaller, older, etc. His performace was incredible and dominating. The announcers were stunned when his hand was lifted. It taught the lesson never count a man with heart out!
4:19 pm on September 21st, 2011
My favorite fight moment – looking back on it now was when my parents were fighting when I was younger. My 5’4″ mom had my 6’2″ dad in a choke hold. She was on his back and he was body slamming her into the wall. I ran out of my room hearing the pounding to my mom sliding down my dad’s back scratching him the whole way. I was yelling at them to grow up or I would call the cops.

I have watched my fair share of MMA fights and I always love when the underdog wins…also enjoy every episode of Bully Beatdown, but I must say the end fight scene between Tommy and Bendan in Warrior can’t be beat – so much heart, so much emotion that I can’t think of anything better

My favorite fight moment of all-time has to be “Gatti vs. Ward” Round 9(the first bout) Those 2 prize fighters gave all fight fans a spectacle to remember. The reason why round 9 was so good was it looked like Micky Ward was about to finish Arturo Gatti off but Gatti took a knee and came right back at Ward. They both finished strong but Ward won the decision. It was like watching a movie and it is my favorite fight of all-time. Both of them show what a warrior’s heart looks like. R.I.P. Gatti – gone but not forgotten.

I’m from South Dakota so it’s Brock Lesnar country. The best moment is when me and my buddy were ata full bar watching the Brock vs Cain fight. We happened to be the only ones there cheering for Cain. The second Brock got knocked down and started doing cartwheels across the cage, we went nuts along with everyone at the bar. With each moment we kept screaming for Cain to finish. When it was finally over we lept out of our seats and when nuts. After that, the bar quieted down, and everyone left heads down, pride crushed. Yet, we left extatic seeing one of the greatest wins in UFC history.

Forrest Griffin vs. Stephan Bonnar was an epic fight, none of them gave up, none of them showed weakness, it was an awesome moment in MMA history for sure, with all the fights, most of them werent as exciting.

Greatest fight moment in my life was as a child getting to see my hero the wrestler Sting (back in his WCW days)in real life. I can remember seeing him in the ring winning the title belt and I remember screaming as my mom took a picture of him raising the belt in the air and the roar of the crowd. This wasn’t an MMA fight, but as a child this was the coolest thing to ever happen in my small little world. I lived for wrestling as a child and seeing my warrior claim the title of world champion…I couldn’t have been happier.

I was in high school with some of my best friends when we witnessed the best fight scene ever. It was a boring night for the most part for us 4 scrony freshmen and we definitely didn’t feel any better watching the opposing Varsity Wrestling Team kicking our ass. BUT, we had a secret weapon at 165 lbs. State Champion, recently moved from California, matched up against current State Champion of Colorado, with the latter being a complete badass from our school. Ironically, this dude from our school’s signature was the wear a black hoodie with the hood pulled tight over his head right up until his match and it even intimidated the crowd. Well, this state champion from California starts clapping in sarcasm and laughs at our State Champion as he approaches the bench with his hoodie on. Our wrestler took one look at him, shook his head, and them threw an incredible right hook, knocking the other guy over the judges bench to fall to the floor unconsciously. The team benches cleared and started going at it. But that single punch was beyond badass. It was more exhilarating than 300, than Rocky, than anything I had ever seen on TV. There was one thing that lived up to it though. It was a familiar dance on the line of focus and sheer insanity. And that was Warrior. I saw our State Champion on the screen as Tommy and it threw me back in time quite a few years.

Way back when I was young and unwise, I agreed to a boxing match with a gentleman who was 6’4″. Me, being only 5’11″ and without boxing skills, found myself at a huge disadvantage. It was set to be an incredible underdog story. Unfortunately, this was real life, not a Disney flick, so I ended up getting pummeled. I was knocked/pushed down 7.5 times in a 2 round match. Needless to say, I lost that bout. I did, however, manage to break his nose.

I was not really into MMA until Warrior. Based on that, I have to go Conlon vs Conlon.

It has to be Griffin vs Bonnar 1… the fight that made MMA and the UFC what it is today. I remember it being on when I was in college and we had some friends over to watch the Cardinals game. We had the fight on a TV in our garage/party area and the Cards game on inside… midway through the first round EVERYONE was outside watching what ended up being the beginning of something huge. I’ll never forget it and I will always be a fan of MMA because of it.

A fight that I never saw but would have loved to seen was the Joe Louis vs Max Schmeling. Such a significant fight in history and an amazing story, that these two men could in a sense become friends after everything everyone in the world was going through at the time. A story almost akin to the one played out in the movie Warrior! (I assume my entry is still acceptable, since it says this closes Sunday the 26th..the 26th is Monday!) ;p
