Win a Sleeping Bag You Can Wear 24/7

Posted 8/16/2011 at 11:30 am by

It’s about time people demanded an evolution in sleeping bags. This week’s giveaway is the Selk’Bag 4G Lite Sleepwear System. The Selk’Bag is a lightweight, two-season version of their original sleep system. This product is basically like wearing a sleeping bag all the time.

It’s what you’ve always dreamed of, staying in bed even when you’re out of bed. Perfect for a variety of adventures, the Selk’bag is used by outdoorsy types for camping in a tent, under the stars, at the lake, beach, or even in the cabin. Use it during the Fall and Winter for comfort, or even in your RV, camper, SUV, or dorm room (quite the adventure in itself).

Info on the Selk’Bag Lite:
• Baffled construction to eliminate cold spots
• Soft, yet durable ripstop nylon shell with DWR (durable water resistant) finish
• Reinforced nylon soles prevent wear and lateral grips give traction on multiple surfaces
• A hood with drawstring for added warmth
• Compacting carry sack
• Thermal collar around the head and neck to prevent drafts
• Exaggerated draft tubes to stop heat loss around zippers
• Wide zipper tape, preventing snags

To win the Selk’Bag Lite, tell us in the comments below the best place you’ve ever gone camping.  How would the Selk’Bag have helped in that event? Did you go hiking and freeze your  butt off?  What camping trip will you go on next with your Selk’Bag? TWO winners will be selected at random from the comments below.

Contest closes August 21st.

Please provide a legitimate email address so we can contact you. Shipping may take up to three months.

Sorry, U.S. contestants only.

Went to Lake Red Rock (middle of Iowa) in the late Fall. It gets pretty cold around here and my friends thought it’d be funny to float my clothes and stuff out to the middle of the lake. The Selk’Bag would have come in handy to say the least. I would probably venture to Rocky Mountain National Park or the Black Hills.

I would have loved to have had this in the deserts of the Middle East. Nothing like going from hot in the day to freezing in the middle of the night. Plus if you have to get up in the middle of night you can easily get, grab your rifle and get some.

Camping at Raystown is always fun… this could protect from the constant onslaught of mosquitoes trying to suck out every last drop of blood… no “sharing” a sleeping bag in that one though

Camping on the Deer River for the weekend was probably my favorite camping adventure so far. Waking up to swimming in the river each morning was amazing. The Selk’bag would have helped so much on the cold nights trying to find firewood in the dark.

Climbed Mt. Saddleback in November, its in Maine, along the Appalachian trail. camped half way up, woke up to find it had snowed overnight so we all figured sure lets climb the rest of the way to the top anyway even though the trails were all ice and the wind was blowing so hard on the summit that we had to put our hands over our eyes just to blink.

Lol, i love those desert insect camping stories, everyone seems to have a good one. As for me, I spent a night on a mountaintop in NH and I think i can close to hypothermia. The weather changed out of nowhere and the temps plummeted. Another sleeping bag would have been nice to have.

well, the coldest, most miserable night of my life was one spent on a boyscout snow cave overnighter?! BRRRR!!! We were on a survival camping trip, that was just wrong from the get go… the snow was not deep enough to build snow caves.. so we slept under the stars on top of the snow it was around 25 degree’s that night anything that we brought with us, was soaking wet, frozen stiff, or nonfunctional(including any chance of lighting a fire for warm..,our matches) needless to say?! we shivered it through the night, and did learn the essentials of survival importance!! water proofing the vitals. we never mistook the boyscout motto after that night!! LOL

    “BE PREPARED”

by crickey, ifin I’d had live in sleeping bag that night?! I would be one of the happiest kids around… awesome concept.. well? here’s to hoping for a freebie on this drawing. But I may just have to buy one if I am not one of the lucky pair!!

I’ve been winter camping in the NWT. and slept in a igloo. It wasn’t too bad, but, a SELK BAG would have made the nights comfortable. I would use it anywhere North of the Arctic Circle… sleeping under the stars far from civilization’s lights is a treat.

When I go camping in the autumn, It’s always freezing inside the tent while I’m eating or sitting around and playing cards. This sleeping bag would be great to just lounge around in and it looks like i would be able to sit in a chair with it and still play cards or eat. Can’t really do that with a regular sleeping bag.

Thanks for the great chance to win awesome camping gear :)

The next place I’ll be going is on a trip to Alaska so this would be great to have for those same reasons.

The coldest night I ever spent in a tent was just in my backyard. I spent half the night just trying to sleep through the cold before I gave up and went in for more blankets. This would be perfect for our fall camping trips. I can see there being some fighting over it, but it would be all mine!!! Coolest place I’ve ever camped is near the Appalachian Trail in PA.
