Father’s Day Giveaway 3 of 5! Remote Control Helicopter

Posted 6/8/2011 at 1:00 pm by

Dad, you can’t let kids have all the fun.  Dads need toys too.  Reward yourself or your dad with the Swann: RC Helicopter.  Stay entertained by flying this thing around all day. Think of the possibilities; fly it around the living room, confuse the mailman, annoy your dog, make your neighbors jealous, or pretend little men are attacking your wife.

The RC Helicopter is a new line of remote controlled gyro helicopters that boast simple operation and a realistic performance. The Easy-Fly Gyro Technology provides stability, it includes six-way multi-directional flying capabilities, and the remote control recharges the built-in battery.

To win, post a link to your favorite toy – vintage or current – in the comments below.  Bonus points if the toy is completely ridiculous or entertaining.  One winner will be selected from the comments section.

Contest closes Wednesday June 15th.

Be sure to provide a legit e-mail address when you comment so we can contact you.

Sorry, U.S. contestants only.

Check out Swann.com/helicopters. More giveaways to come!

    Teddy Ruxpin!!!
This was my favorite toy when I was 5, eventually I realized I can put any damn tape I wanted into the bear, and it will play it. So this bear sang rather then tell me stories, way cooler! My Grandma put a old “Mexican Ranchera (Country)” tape in him, and just couldn’t stop laughing, I couldn’t either!

Do not remember the manufacturer but back in india when they came out with helicopters for kids they had this one for kids.
    You had the copter.
It fit into a base which was on top of a cylindrical plastic handle.
Then you pull the ring attached to a string which winds the mechanism inside the handle.
When you let go it makes the copter blades to turn at a speed and it flew straight.
But you could never control direction and could take out anything or any face eyes etc.
Completely ridiculous as i managed to give a friend a cut over his eye and get him 15 stiches.

My favorite were the old school GI Joe’s with the full beards. I remember as a kid trying to shave them off. I’m bummed that I gave them all away when I was in my teens.

The Lego Star Wars Wampa Cave

    http://starwars.lego.com/en-us/Products/Hoth+Wampa+Cave%E2%84%A2/8089.aspx

It comes with a snow-speeder, the wampa monster, a Lego skeleton, and a lightsaber that FLIES THROUGH THE AIR WHEN YOU PRESS A BUTTON (just like in the movie).

    It’s a badass desk distraction.

Sit-n-spin is proof parents hate children. Not only do you spin yourself sick, but the name is a euphanism for “go fuck yourself”.

Gobs of fun as a kid though.

    Ridiculous!!!

No one knew how popular the movie Star Wars would be when it came out in 1977. Certainly Kenner, the maker of Star Wars toys, didn’t. Kenner had no intention of creating action figures for the film, instead going with cheap toys like puzzles and other lame junk that no one would want from a film Kenner must have assumed no one would see. Turns out a few people did see the flick and those few people wanted a Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader doll. Kenner didn’t have any, so they came up with this ingenious gambit: let people buy Early Bird certificates good for an action figure when they became available. This amounted to thousands of children ripping open their presents on Christmas morning to discover their parents’ bought them an empty box. And that is when George Lucas introduced bottomless disappointment to his fans, a gimmick he would later perfect with the Star Wars prequels.

The best was the old school He-man action figures. For several reasons: 1. They were just bad ass 2. She-Ra (hot!) and 3. The live action movie featured the Russian from Rocky IV (I must break you, Skeletor!)
