Anchor Bay Films’ action-thriller 13, starring Jason Statham, Sam Riley, and Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson is available on Blu-ray and DVD today, November 8th. Vince Ferro finds himself in a deadly game in an underworld Russian roulette competition, where gamblers place bets on who’ll survive. It looks awesome, check out the trailer -
The trailer evokes the question, who will be the last man standing? Ferro, in desperate circumstances, steals an envelope containing instructions for a mysterious job that promises a potential fortune. He uses a false identity and follows the instructions, only to find himself in the deadly Russian roulette game. The stakes are high but the payout is irresistible. Are his odds any better than other players in this deadly game?

Camp wide capture the flag, cloudy night, and dense forest, factor in poison ivy and bogs and you’ve got a lot of fun. The most daring (or stupid) wound up soaked in scummy water, or in really bad cases couldn’t see out of their eyes for a few days until the Calamine kicked in.

I played chicken with friends at a cliff. Four wheeling in the desert of southern New Mexico just across the border from good ‘ole El Paso, a friend knew the desert trails like the back of his hand. We had some neewbies with us and essentially we come to the top of a particular hill, and he floors it we go down and up the other side, but truly you come face to face with a cliff overhang and can only go up about half way and he would hit he breaks at the right time. It would really give the neewbies a jolt as it seemed we would wreck and it was a great laugh for us. It truly wasn’t as dangerous as it seemed, but nonetheless great fun when four wheeling and drinking beer all night.

I had to do a scavenger hunt when I was pledging my fraternity. It included things such as getting pictures in front of three state lines and getting a porno mag in another language.

Battle tubes. Two towable rafts being pulled behind a wakeboard boat at about 30 mph. Trying to rip the other guy off his tube. Fun and painful

At my college there was a frat house with a lawn jockey in the yard. For some reason most people referred to it as “Stymie.” It had been “borrowed” several times by other frats as part of an on-going game. Although we weren’t in a frat (or eligible because we were female) we decided to get into the game & steal (I mean borrow) it. There were 5-6 of us that night so we sent 2 to the door to distract any guys who might be near the door. The rest of us preceeded to lift Stymie. It weighed over 50 lbs. 2 girls carried Stymie while the others helped us to be unnoticeable. We had to keep switching off because the darn thing was very heavy, and we stopped about every hundred feet to argue whether or not we were just going to leave it. About an hour later we finally got Stymie back to one girl’s dorm room, where it stayed through the rest of the semester. Word got out over the semester that we had it but no one ever came to borrow it from us.

Every year, about a group of 20 get together and hold a day of sports called the Superfriends Games. It starts off with golf, then we take over a park for home derby and 3-point contest, with a couple of events in there. The night ends with Beer Chug, Poker, and Sports Trivia. One guy took on the role of commissioner and ref. He creates the trivia and times the events. He even had a cup made for the champion and the Toaster of Shame made for ultimate loser. Excellent prizes are given out for each sport, like a 40 of Steel Reserve for the beer chug winner, cash payouts for poker, or even an autographed picture of Scott Burrell.

My craziest game came when I was a pledge at a fraternity. Our last challenge was a scavenger hunt in the middle of November in Chicago. The crazy part is that we had to do this scavenger hunt only in shorts and a t-shirt and without any money or a train card. We were freezing, and walking all over downtown Chicago, trying to figure out where we needed to go next.

I played a game of “Try Not To Throw Up” with my best friend’s now wife’s best friend once. He set me up with her so he could keep the friend occupied while he got occupied with his now wife. And I got to occupy the 6’1″ 350 wonder. Who smelled of pee, and wasn’t even jolly. It sucked.
