People who text and talk during movies are the bane of any moviegoers existence. There are only a dozen or so pleas and warnings about not texting and talking right there on the screen before the movie starts. It’s an established rule of society that people are not to talk during a movie. But people do it anyway. It boggles the mind.
That’s why we have the utmost respect for the actions of the Alamo Drafthouse, a theater in Austin, Texas. A customer was kicked out for violating that one long standing rule…don’t use your phone in a theater. So what does this peach of a customer do? She calls and leaves an outraged voice mail to express her disgust at being kicked out for being an asshole.
And what does the Alamo Drafthouse do? They turn her voice mail into a video reminder to their patrons that they are not allowed to text during the movie and play it prior to all of their R-rated movies. Bravo, Alamo Drafthouse. Bravo indeed.
