It’s funny, you get to know a girl through the Playboy system as a Playmate or a Cyber Girl or a Coed of the Week and you buy the (extremely attractive) archetype. The girl next door. Sexy but not slutty. Flirtatious but not horny. Hip but not controversial. Charismatic but, to some extent, unburdened with personality.
We did that with Sydney Barlette, a Coed, Cyber Girl, and Book of Lingerie regular — we thought “wow, she looks great in a bikini, and also great naked,” and moved on.
Well, Sydney Barlette has released her first music video, under the name Widow White, and you can forget that business about “unburdened with personality.” She has plenty of personality, and she is all too happy to shake it in your face. Here is “Shake It Up,” and no, it’s not a remake of the ’80s hit by The Cars. No, it is so not that:
Sun’s up, drunk as fuck, tequila sunrise
Titties bouncin’ up and down, 2 Chainz no lie
Passin blunts ’cause we young and we always high
Sheesh, there’s a lot going on there. Was Sydney Barlette always this ghetto fabulous? Sadly, we never bothered to ask. Tell you what, though, we will be extremely interested in Sydney’s music and music-video career from now on.
We should point out that “Shake It Up” comes off Sydney’s forthcoming Widow White debut EP, titled Shake the Babies. We would be extremely surprised if it is about babies in the sense of tiny human beings. Nope, we smell a metaphor there.
