Electricity = Overrated

The best part about living in an area with a shitty electrical grid was how the power would cut out whenever temperatures rose and everyone started turning on their air conditioners. All the adults in the neighborhood thought it sucked, but we thought it was awesome solely because of one particular adult—your mom.

No air conditioning meant it got really hot inside your house, and no dishwasher meant your mom had to do the dishes by hand. The combination of these two scenarios made for one hell of a show in your kitchen.

It got so good that we stopped waiting for the power grid to give out and simply shut off the breaker in your basement. Ah, the chicanery we used to come up with, all because your mom was hot!
