She Was Such a Scaredy Cat

Sleepovers at your house were great, because the place was so damn big and it was situated in a safe subdivision, so our parents had no qualms about letting us spend the night there whenever we wanted. Your mom, however, was super paranoid, especially when she had other people’s kids in her care. One night we were sneaking around the house and freaked her out big time, much to our delight. The best was the next morning when we overheard her describing the incident to a friend over the phone:

“I’ve decided no more kids hanging out at my house for the next couple of nights. Not only are they waking me constantly, but last night around 1 a.m. I had the humiliating experience of hearing a door open and getting up to see if a burglar was breaking in, only to have a few of my son’s friends walk out of the bathroom down the hall. Yep, there I was in only a see-through red nightie. Awkward!”

For her, it was awkward. For us it was awesome—because your mom was hot!
