Girl on Girl: Jessica Vaugn Has a Hot Roomie! Meet Yasmine Soofi!

Meet my very own cherished friend and roommate Yasmine Soofi! This Memphis teen turned Hollywood socialite is someone I had to bring to TSJ!

Persian / Puerto Rican / Hawaiian.

Are people in California ever surprised after seeing you, a lovely Princess Jasmine Disney sort, and then a country music star’s voice comes from your mouth? What’s it like to be southern in a city like LA?
I can’t even tell you how many people are thrown off by my voice. Being ethnically ambiguous and sounding like a southern belle must not be a very common thing around here judging by the reactions I’ve gotten. I’m a total city girl I need fast pace, new experiences and challenges often.Ill sleep when I’m dead. I’m totally in love with Los Angeles. Memphis will always be home though.

My dream modeling job is…
Guess catalogs never let me down, I go in the stores to see the new photos and models every time I go to a mall, it’d be so dope if I walked in one day to see myself there! Always tasteful but sexy.

If I land a big sex scene in a huge budget movie, I’m hoping my costar is…
I cant help but get really excited in the pants when I hear the name Ryan Gosling!!

How exciting is it to see yourself in magazines this year and also being featured on websites like Sports Illustrated?
It’s honestly the best feeling in the world, working hard and finally see it pay off. I’m so excited to see what’s next!

Along with modeling you do quite a bit of acting work, including a recent episode on “Castle”! What do you like about acting versus modeling?
Acting, believe it or not, is totally being yourself, letting go and seeing where the story takes you. Modeling is more structured, I feel, and planned.

What do your friends and family think about your move to Hollywood and your aspiring acting career?
You really find out who your friends and family are when you move 1,800 miles away. The fake ones fell off pretty quick, but I owe it to my friends and family who have been there from the start for holding me up when things were tough and never giving up on me. I’ve been so blessed to have such an amazing support system.

What is the most common misconception people hold about LA that you can dispel?
That people here are stuck up and fake. I’ve never been to a place with such diversity, and genuine people. Of course there’s bad everywhere but it’s pretty easy to spot them here.

What are the traits you look for in a possible boyfriend?
Someone who knows himself, loves me how I am — despite the fact that I’m pretty difficult at times! I look for a person who can help me bring out my full potential as well as me bring out his!

Where can we keep up with you online?
