Just to think, we’ve been spending all of this time debating whether or not illegal downloads are killing the music industry when the truth is it has been dead since at least the 1980′s. That’s when your parents were busy transferring their vinyl LP’s to high quality cassette tapes. And because no medium is more indestructible than the cassette, it was a total bloodbath from there. Here’s hoping that, someday, the music industry will find a way to overcome the evils of this recordable menace.

not even close. the same was said about reel to reel tape before that & i suspect there was something done to make sure that earlier audio duplication equipment was intentionally kept out of the hands of consumers.
this is RIAA (recording industry toadies & leeches) propaganda.

Bert Here,
Uhm, Ernie? You probably didn’t know that blank cassette’s cost more than they should because there was a tax on the media, because the RIAA KNEW you might make your favorite mix tape of Air Supply on it with a bonus track of Kool and the Gang as filler on the tail. As for reel to reel, those days were over when Hef threw out his machine several years ago. Only some die hards keep a reel to reel around, and the sound is also most desirable for musicans who hate protools for recording their band.
