Our Favorite Videos Inspired By Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World

Last week, we inadvertently pissed off an entire country by listing a horrendous boy band music video. This week, we’re in a less controversial Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World kind of mood on TSJ. The movie is being released on DVD/Blu-Ray this week and we’re also doing a giveaway. Have you entered to win some of the awesome prizes we’re giving away? If you haven’t seen the movie or read the books, hopefully you’ll still find something to like in this week’s video dump or get really pumped up to check out all things Scott Pilgrim. Scott Pilgrim vs. The Animation
Adult Swim did a really cool animated short in two parts that filled in some of the back story to the Scott Pilgrim tale that wasn’t in the movie. Probably the closest the graphic novels will ever come to a classically animated treatment, though YouTube! commenters are vocal about a series on Adult Swim.

Vs. The Matrix
Our favorite trailer mash-up from Scott Pilgrim is this trailer that reworks footage from The Matrix so that Neo and Trinity fit nicely into the roles of Scott and Ramona. The creator even added in some of the Scott Pilgrim visual frills. If you’re hungry for more, a close second is the Pirates of the Caribbean Vs. the World mash-up trailer.

Michael Cera and Jason Schwartzman Get Hit By School Bus
While promoting Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, Michael Cera and Jason Schwartzman appeared on Fox 5 News in Atlanta one morning. Imagine your two funniest college buddies taking over the morning news and being allowed to do the weather and mess with the lame 3D news graphics.

Seven Evil Exes music video
One of a couple fan-made songs about Scott Pilgrim that director Edgar Wright shared on his blog, the song “Seven Evil Exes” by Former Fat Boys also got it’s own homemade music video that used frames from the comic to tell the story of the song. Disclaimer #2: The author of this post made this video. Feel free to call him out in the comments.

Michael Cera on David Letterman
Michael Cera also took to David Letterman to promote Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World and there are some nice, funny gems in this interview as well.

Scott Pilgrim Fans vs. The World
Two Scott Pilgrim fans in the UK made this video of themselves fighting out their disagreements about the awesomeness of the film. The director, Edgar Wright, likened it to films he used to make as a kid. Who knows, maybe these kids will grow up to be the next Edgar Wright.

Do Scott Pilgrim Movie Effects Yourself!
Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World had a style and look unlike any film so far. Here the folks at FilmRiot teach any of you amateur filmmakers how to achieve these effects on your own and on the cheap.

Scott Pilgrim Trailer: Graphic Novel Recreation
A fan took the Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World trailer and found the corresponding frames of the comic to create a trailer that is, quite literally, faithful to the source material.
