Jon Davis Gets a Sex Robot premiers August 19th on THE YOMYOMF Network (YouTube). New episodes air Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The show stars Michael McMillian, Nikki SooHoo, Chris Jericho, and Riki Lindhome.
What is man’s ultimate dream? A sex robot you can grow old with.
Let’s face it. The painstaking process of wooing a woman to have sex with you can make a man weep in frustration. The reality of marriage means having sex with one woman for the rest of your life and that can be a difficult thing to get over. We’ve all flirted with finding alternative ways to to simulate the experience of sex with different “partners” while not cheating on our woman. Some men are content with their hand. Some men buy toys. Some men screw the gapping-mouth-holes in blow up dolls.
While all those are decent solutions, they don’t compare to Jon Davis and his sex robot. And not just any robot… a hot Asian sex robot.
Who the hell is Jon Davis? Well, Jon Davis is a married, sheepish man (probably like yourself). One day, Jon and his wife, Layla, talk about their celebrity sex list (people they’d be okay to fuck while still being married). While Layla rattles off a long list of men (including “that Indian guy from the Facebook movie”), Jon Davis, on the other hand, has no celebrity or person he wants to have sex with. Instead, Jon Davis has only one fantasy: A sex robot.
You see, ever since he was a kid, Jon Davis has always been into “sexy robots, sexy cyborgs, sexy androids especially if they ever looked exactly human.” Jon has never been more passionate or more serious about anything in his life. He literally has pages of a scrapbook featuring hand drawn sexy robots that he has drawn since he was a kid; and still does, it seems, as an adult. Layla is a little weirded out by it. Jon proposes: “If in the future, sexy robots are invented and they look perfectly human, can I get one?” Not taking him seriously, Layla agrees.
Five years later, the package arrives.
After Jon commands her power switch on, Sex Robot welcomes herself with the following computation: “I am a service robot, specifically designed for you, Jon Davis.” The look on Jon’s face says it all:
And here is his wife Layla’s reaction:
And with that, the story begins. Jon Davis Gets a Sex Robot is created and written by The Job Factory, the creative team behind Bananapocalypse. It stars Michael McMillian (“True Blood,” “Hot In Cleveland”) as Jon Davis, whose new sex robot threatens to upend his marriage, his friendship and sanity. WWE champion Chris Jericho (MacGruber), Jon’s cocky best friend, Nikki SooHoo (Lovely Bones), the gratification-seeking sex robot, and Riki Lindhome (Garfunkle and Oates) plays Jon’s reluctant wife, Layla.
I was worried this show would be all concept and nothing more. I am here to tell you I was wrong. Jon Davis gets a Sex Robot is the perfect combination of raunchy and outrageous meets clever and wit. Not everything in this web series is an over-the-top, free-for-all. It’s rooted in relationship complexities and is by no mean a “one-joke” show. The acting talent in this is superb. Everyone in here is a face you will recognize and they have the goods to back it up.
Michael McMillian is excellent as poor Jon; the everyman living the dream of acquiring a sex robot, yet dealing with the consequences that come with it. His possessiveness over his sex robot is absolutely hilarious and leads the story into funny situations. Nikki SooHoo is way more than just a hot chick playing a robot. She owns this character and it’s really fun to see her take on the literal robot role, which includes robotic speaking and movements (“vagina is full…vagina is full”). Chris Jericho is the wild man who brings a bag of crude humor to every scene (“You got to jizz it up, bro!”). Riki Lindhome is her usual hilarious-self as she grows from the reluctant/passive wife to the agitated wife to, ultimately, the wife who wants in on the action.
What we come to find out is that having a sex robot is not the fantasy you think it would be. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Jon has to deal with relationship issues, marital problems, his best friend wanting to fuck it, and, of course, the gross cleaning of various mechanical parts.
I’m here to tell you that Jon Davis Gets a Sex Robot is an absolute, fun gem of a web series that packs a lot of comedy punch. So before you go running off to buy a sex robot, please consult Jon Davis Gets a Sex Robot as a guide to all the potential positives and pitfalls that this fantasy comes with.
Before we go, we asked hot Asian Sex Robot (played by Nikki Soohoo) some questions:
TSJ: As a sex robot, you’re programmed to please. Can you tell TSJ readers what you are programmed to do? Sexually, of course.
Sex Robot: Out of the box, the Sex Robot is programmed to do everything except receive cunnilingus. But that is fixed later with a firmware upgrade!
TSJ: What happens when a robot has sex with another robot? Do minds explode?
SR: We will answer that exact question in season 2! Spoiler alert: Simultaneous Sex Robot Orgasms = Time Travel.
TSJ: I imagine the cleaning sucks. Any advice out there for future sex robot owners on cleaning and general care?
SR: The cleaning does suck, especially if your friend uses your Sex Robot while you’re gone and you’re stuck cleaning it. Later models will be self-cleaning.
