I chose PMOY Marilyn Cole as my top choice. Not only was she the first and only British woman to be PMOY, she set the standard for what we have come to know and love today as a Playboy Playmate. In her January 1972 layout she was the first Playmate to have a full frontal nude centerfold. Playmates from the 1970s have a classic allure to them that predates breast implants and pubic grooming and so many of the trends we see these days. These Playmates, like Marilyn truly embodied that girl next door essence perfectly. She was a true trailblazer and I for one am very grateful that her centerfold paved the way for what we take for granted today.

My favorite playmate of the year of all time is….. drumroll please…. Corinna Harney!!
She has a special place in my heart as she was the very first centerfold of the very first issue I procured for myself (at a tender age of 14). I thought I was just scoring a dirty mag, until I read it cover to cover. I still have it packed away in my bachelor trunk
and I do break it out from time to time. Everytime I break out the magazine I get transported back to a better time, when I was young and the world was uncomplicated. Thanks for the memories with the great contest!!!

My top choice for the Playmate of the 2010 year is, Jaime Faith Edmondson. Because she is a rare breed. A beautiful redhead that is college educated and sounds like she is tough as nails. There would be nothing hotter than to be arrested by Jaime or see her cheer for the team you love. But she also has a soft side too. She volunteers at a non-profit shelter for dogs and she would like to do an “Angels for Animals” ad for PETA. She was the prefect fit for the start of the 2010 Playboy Playmate of the month.

I have watched Sara Jean’s appearances on AOTS, and she is a delight to watch her joke, laugh, and even burp all the while holding a firm grip on SEXY balanced with cute. What a great Playboy Ambassador!

My favorite of all time was Anna Nicole i just loved her not so typical of Playboy look she was a little odd but thats what made her even better.She was always ery outgoing and no matter what the look the photographers put her in she pilled it off with style and class. Its sad her life had to end in the way it did.

Ida Lundqvist. She has such a perfectly shaped body covered with lovely curves. Not to mention her International upbringing. She is the first African-borm PMOY. She is a very versatile model with various looks and lets not forget her million dollar smile.

When it came to picking my favorite Playmate of all time, there was only one choice: Jenny McCarthy.
Not only is she the quintessential girl next door in my eyes, she also overcame high school nerd status and a fear of public speaking to not only become a Playboy favorite, but an accomplished actress, highly underrated comedienne (her MTV show was one of the few reasons to tune in that channel at the time), gifted author, and perhaps best of all, an activist for autism.
True, she could’ve kept her son’s condition a private affair, but she put herself out there to help other families facing the same challenges…and that’s a quality I deeply admire.
Not only is Jenny sexy and beautiful, but she’s endlessly creative, highly intelligent and wickedly funny…and it’s these latter three qualities that only add to my admiration.
What more can I say about a woman ballsy enough to pose on a toilet for a high profile print ad campaign for shoes?

My favorite playmate was Claire Sinclair for many different reasons, but the best being the overall sense of amazing that she seemed to exhude. Not only is she a knock out and extremely photogenic, but she can hold her own with an interview, and has a brain to boot, which is one of the most underused sexual organs that everyone seems to forget. She embodies sexiness with an old school class that is just amazing. A beauty with a brain, what an amazing package.

My favorite Playmate (or should I say Sweetheart) would have to be Marilyn Monroe simply because she started it all. It’s been 57 years since the first issue launched (3 years since the reprint) and she’s still stealing the hearts of men (she captured mine many years ago). Want to know how? Pop in a DVD of Some Like It Hot and get back to me. Heck forget the DVD just look at the photos in the first Playboy! True beauty. Completely untouched (no Photoshop needed). A woman who could (and I believe did) help launch an empire. Congrats to Hef for having the vision to use her in the first mag. Everyone in the past, present, and future thanks you as we get the benefits of your wisdom.

I’ve been a Playboy reader for less than a year, so I’m not familiar with very many of the Playmates of the Year. However, Jo Collins in particular caught my eye, who was PMOY 1965. In her centerfold photo from December 1964, (I own the Complete Centerfolds book) she is smiling at the camera, her white shirt just wet enough to show what’s underneath while still leaving something to the imagination. I feel that Playboy should try this again. I enjoy naked photos of beautiful women of course, but sometimes what you don’t show can be as exciting as what you do.
Aside from that, Jo Collins also toured in Vietnam with the USO entertaining our service folks there during the Vietnam war. That alone, especially since it was such an unpopular war, earns her quite a bit of respect from me. To me, she represents what a Playmate should be, beautiful, classy and service oriented. I have nothing against the more modern Playmates, of course, but I particularly admire Jo Collins for doing something like that with the USO when so many back home were so virulently against the war and the military in general. I would like to see one of the more recent Playmates go to Iraq or Afghanistan the way Jo Collins went to Vietnam.

I like Karen MacDougall the most because she seems like a very warm person. There’s something about her look and the way she acts that feels genuinely friendly. Like, if you didn’t recognize, she seems like she’d be very nice to everyone. Admittedly, she has had a bunch of exposure over the years and from everything I’ve ever seen involving Karen, it seems like she is as nice as I had imagined her to be. I guess what I’m saying is that she seems like someone you would want to spend time around.

I would have to go with Jenny McCarthy. As a fellow Chicagoan, she does the city proud. I was a senior in high school when she became PMOY, and as such, was something of an introduction to the ideal that is the “girl next door.” She has a wicked sense of humor, and the mischievous glint that always seems to be in her eyes is what makes her that much sexier. She will always have a place in my heart.
