Most of us look forward to the summer for the friendly weather and the attractive women in shorts and bikinis. Yet if there is one thing that can distract the average guy from checking out the blonde walking by, it’s a Fantasy Football cheat sheet.
The month of August is when the attention spans for many men, and even women these days, turn to Fantasy Football, the hottest sports-related pastime in America right now. It’s no longer just a “geek hobby,” as it seems just about everyone who is a sports fan is playing Fantasy Football. Ashton Kutcher, David Wright, Meat Loaf and 2004 Playmate and Playboy Radio Host Pilar Lastra are among the celebrities who engage in the passionate competition and trash talk that has taken the sporting public by storm.
Everyone knows someone who plays Fantasy Football, and you shouldn’t be left out this season. Not being in a Fantasy Football league is akin to not having a date for the prom in social circles among sports fans. Fortunately for you, we at RotoExperts.com have joined Fantasy forces with the cool cats at The Smoking Jacket to bring you the best in Fantasy Football content every week, throughout the preseason and regular season. Even if you are new to the hobby, or a seasoned veteran, we give you all the advantages you need to crush the opposition.
Everyone who plays Fantasy Football is obsessing about who they should take with their first-round draft pick, because the No. 1 selection is usually the crux of your Fantasy Football team. After a major breakout season in 2010, Houston running back Arian Foster is widely considered to be the best No. 1 overall selection. Minnesota’s Adrian Peterson is a model of consistency at a very high level, but offensive line issues for the Vikings raise significant concerns. Tennessee’s Chris Johnson and Kansas City’s Jamaal Charles round out “The Big Four” selections this season, as the quartet of running backs are considered the prime picks in any draft this year.
Baltimore RB Ray Rice and Philadelphia RB LeSean McCoy aren’t too far behind the Big Four in terms of elite appeal, and many owners will not hesitate to go for quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Michael Vick in the first round, but keep in mind that quality passers can still be found in the later rounds. Those who draft later in the first round will certainly have top-shelf wide receivers such as Houston’s Andre Johnson and Atlanta’s Roddy White on their radar screens.
Of course, a quality draft is executed far past the first round, and we’ll help you get ready to build an entire championship squad this season. We’ll begin to look at key players and trends to watch for this weekend, and in the meantime, check out the RotoExperts.com Xclusive Edge package, your central source for league dominance.
