Congress is big news these days. For what, we’re not really sure seeing as how they don’t seem to get much done, but the fact remains, Congress is big news. Also big news…the fact that Americans are remarkably broke these days. No matter how hard we work, it still seems to be just enough to put food on the table and iPods in our Burberry backpacks.
Meanwhile, as this highly entertaining infographic from the people at Online Schools explains, Congress is ballin’ out of control. Must be nice.

Great info graphic. Love the added bling. I agree that their pay is way to high, but cutting it completely would be nearly impossible to convince them to do. Why not make it the national average? That would encourage them to find ways to boost everyones pay.

Actually, cutting the funding for NPR saved Americans zero dollars.
The 5 million is still allocated to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, so it just gets given to other stations instead like PBS.
A significant of Republicans argued against the cut on the grounds that it doesn’t actually do anything.

Considering they have all been bought and paid for, I would say very rich!

You forgot to add in Congress pension for life. Taxpayers will bear the burden of paying for Congress pension.
You and I don’t have the kind of retirement Congress has.

Well I think people also should realize that if you think they make too much then run yourself and if you can’t win then you can’t really say anything. Their salaries are hardly affecting our nations economy considering a single fleet of fighter jets would cost much more. Although we are entitled to our opinions I don’t think it is right to be mad for other people having more money than us. They definitely did not make 300 million dollars from working as a congress member… Their overpayment is a problem for sure but it is one of a myriad of much more dire issues. As americans we need to set out priorities straight.

I’m no politician, but personally, I would say the less money a governing body makes, the more susceptible to corruption/bribery they are.

Well, eliminating congressmen salaries all together would make it impossible for non millionaire congressmen to afford being there.
So instead 58% of millionaires we would have pretty much 98% of millionaires.
